Susan will be performing with Justin Carroll at the New York Trad Fest on Saturday 23 November from 7 – 11:30pm at Connolly’s, 121 West 45th Street, New York.

Susan and her music are featured in the movie ‘Twig’ by screenwriter and director Marian Quinn that premiered as the opening selection of the Dublin International Film Festival and in the U.S. at the Woodstock Film Festival in October.  A retelling of the Greek tragedy Antigone, ‘Twig’ was shot in Dublin and stars Sade Malone and Brían F. O’Byrne with Susan in the role of Teresa. The film features a version of Leonard Cohen’s song ‘Anthem’ that Susan produced and arranged, as well as newly written lyrics and adaptations of traditional songs in Ireland’s native language, Gaeilge.

Susan collaborated in a series of concerts entitled Lower East Side Women’s Voices with poet Sandra Santana and Ria Nez at La Plaza Cultural, LES Trinity Church and the space at 428 East 10th Street. Susan performed a number of new songs – newly composed music for poems by radical Lower East Side Irish poet Lola Ridge – accompanied by Justin Carroll and Elizabeth Pupo Walker.

Susan and Sinéad sang the song ‘Irish Ways and Irish Laws’ together at the original East Village café Sin-É in the 1990s.
